Veteran Ghanaian Dancehall artiste and High grade family CEO, Samini has made a very interesting statement about the controversial plant, marijuana on Kwabena Anokye Adisi(Bola Ray)'s show Starr chat. Samini made a suggestion to the president of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, government and policy makers to allow farmers to grow the controversial plant, marijuana popular known as 'wee' in the country.
He claims that the money generated from the sale of marijuana will help boost Ghana’s economy and solve it's problems.
His reason for making such a suggestion is that some countries are making huge fortunes out of the plant which has been banned in the country.
The dancehall champ wonders why Ghana is allowing the plant to go waste when it could have reaped money from it as one of it's numerous benefits.
He said to Bola Ray: "I think that Ghana should be looking at decriminalizing marijuana, lemme drop a statement that if Ghana should decrimalise wee and then also give farmers license to grow wee since it does so well on Ghana soil, to even allow them grow for export, there are countries that have made fortunes out of marijuana export, its not just for smoking or recreational use, but I am talking about the other 33, 000 uses of marijuana plant, you can make jeans fabrics from it, paper from it, oil," .
The 'iskoki' hit maker also stated that due to it's numerous health benefits he's ready to take the bull by the horn and battle policy makers on the use of marijuana in the country.

Samini beseeches government to allow farmers to grow marijuana 'wee'.
Adding to what he said earlier: "If Ghana’s economy is struggling and there is a plant, that is not meant to be used on the streets of Ghana, let’s plant it and export it to the streets where they use it and collect money from them, because they have legalised it there and they use it so why not send it to them, you can say you have banned it for people not to smoke it in the streets, but a farmer who has acres of marijuana should be able to grow it, packages it and send to who buys it and make money for the economy,".
However, Samini was reluctant to mention precisely the date he stopped smoking ‘wee’ saying he doesn’t smoke cigarette.
He stated"I have smoked ‘wee’ before and I wouldn’t deny it, I can’t say I quit because I don’t remember the last time I said I don’t or haven’t smoked before, I wouldn’t say yes and I wouldn’t say no, because it would depend on my mood, I smoked wee this year in Seattle-USA because its legal there, its legal in Holland and a lot of other countries,".
Samini is one of Ghana's best Dancehall acts and a veteran for that matter. He made a debut with his smash hit track, 'Linda' many years ago and ever since then, he has been releasing hit back to back hits.
