 Yvonne Okoro Red Carpet2
Actress Yvonne Okoro has been adjudged by the Ghana Official Fashion Review panel as the Best Dressed Female Celebrity on the red carpet at the maiden edition of Sparrow Entertainment Festival 2016 day 1 on Friday, January 8, 2016.

After a careful review of a long list of female celebrities who graced the red carpet at movie event which took place at Silverbird cinema in Accra, the panel was tasked to choose their top 3.

The well-experienced panel led by Mr. Oscar Doe Executive Chairman of Eurostar Global Limousine Group, shortlisted the top 3 Best Dressed Female Celebs namely: Actresses Yvonne Okoro, Nana Akua Addo and Singer Efya.

It was a close call between Yvonne Okoro and Nana Akua but the panel feels Nana Akua lost points with her choice of Shoes. They believe a different colour would have been ideal, so eventually Yvonne Okoro stole the show with red gown.

“We Encourage Our Stars To Wear A Tailored Made Ceremonial Attire To Formal Events To Compliment The Occasion But Not "Necessarily Expensive Clothes"Our Concern For Ghana Fashion Has Been Made Clear And From This Day On Our Stars Will Take Public Events Appearance Seriously And To Inspire The Younger Generation!”, Mr. Oscar Doe stated.

Kumawood Awards: All set for Jan. 23

Kumawood Awards: All slated for Jan. 23

Kumawood 2015The brouhaha about the Kumawood Akoben Film Festival Awards can be put to rest as organizers of the show have landed on the final date as 23rd January, 2016.

Confirming the date to Bekwai based Dess FM 90.3 on their entertainment show last Saturday, the CEO of Kumawood, Mr. Samuel Kwabena Darko known in the showbiz industry as Samdakus, he told the host, OGEE that the awards that had led to the postponements of the show are now ready and also confirmed that the awards were made in Dubai.

“Yes the date is now set for 23rd January, 2016 at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Kumasi and it is also true that the awards were made in Dubai. I traveled to Dubai myself to make the awards. The awards were made in crystals which are like glasses. They made a sample for me and it was very nice. The names of the awardees could be seen inside the glass when you view from every angle. But when the awards were in three days before the show, the writings could be hardly read. They were like sorry to say, Arabic. So we thought it wise to postpone it so that we send them back for perfect ones.”

When asked about why the awards were not made in Ghana, Mr. Darko said looking at the nature of the awards, no company in Ghana could do them as they wanted them to be different from all the awards they have presented.

He however, called on Ghanaian companies who can make such awards if any to come on board so that they will be given to contract next time.

The Kumawood Akoben Film Festival Awards has faced several postponements which has made movie lovers and stakeholders furious.

The first official date was on the 27th December last year which could not come off due to the problems with the awards. There was however, a date like 16th of January, 2016 and now the final date is set to be 23rd January, 2016 at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Kumasi.
