Black Coffee wins the 2016 BET Award but MzVee lost out.

MzVee
Talented Ghanaian dancehall artiste,MzVee unfortunately did not win the 2016 BET award for her nomination in ‘Best International Act : Africa’ award. This year's Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards African category was won by South African's DJ Black Coffee.
It came as a surprise as Mzvee was the only Ghanaian to be nominated for the History 2016 BET awards but she lost it to Dj Black Coffee.
Other competitors who were in that category are South Africans AKA and Cassper Nyovest, Nigerians Wizkid and Yemi Alade, Tanzanian Diamond Platinumz and Ivorian Serge Beynaud. The BET awards nomination is Mzvee's second nomination at the awards scheme after she was nominated in the ‘Best New International Artist Viewers’ Choice Award’ category last year 2015.
In Ghana's history, the ‘Natural Girl’ hitmaker is the first female Ghanaian artiste to be nominated in the BET awards after Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Kojo Antwi, R2Bees and D Black.

Yvonne Nelson kisses Jason of Gh one tv at Heels and Sneakers premiere, seeking for attention or what?

Yvonne Nelson& Jason kissing
Celebrated Ghanaian actress come film producer, Yvonne Nelson did the unimaginable at the premiere of her new TV series, Heels and Sneakers which premiered on Friday, June 24 evening at the Silverbird Cinemas.
The popular actress kissed a colleage. Perhaps the act they put up in the movie was not enough so they decided to continue it at the Silverbird cinema not the whole world to see. But really I have not captured any actor kissing a colleague at a movie premiere but she did that last night at the event.
After the movie had ended, Yvonne and her casts walked out of the auditorium to have some interaction with the crowd and also take photos. During that moment, Yvonne and radio/TV presenter Jason El-Agha in an interview for one of the TV stations kissed for the camera to be show on TV. Zionfelix.net captured that because we didn’t want you to miss anything on the night.
Well, that did not end there. They also had the second and a third kiss after all the casts had taken a group picture. And again, Zionfelix.net had those moments on our cameras. The kiss from the two on the night of the premiere had applause from the fans who trooped to the Silverbird Cinema to watch the series. Clearly, the cheers from the fans showed that they loved what the two did.

In the series Heels and Sneakers, Yvonne Nelson who played the role of a lecturer was wooed by Jason who was her student. They kissed several times and went to bed as well after she fell in love for the young looking handsome guy, Jason.
So now I guess you know where the kissing started and why it was very easy for Yvonne and Jason to give three shots of kiss on the night.
Enjoy their kissing moments.

Kofi Kinaata. (wearing black)
Talented Ghanaian fante rapper and song writer, Kofi Kinaata was granted an interview with Flex newspaper last week Tuesday in relation to how far he has come as an artiste and rumors in town that organizers of the Vodafone Ghana music awards has bought him a brand new car with so much revelations.
He answered “I started driving before this year’s VGMA, so all those saying VGMA organizers bought the car for me should stop because they didn’t contribute anything.
On what basis would they do that and if they did, they would have made it publicly for Ghanaians to know reasons why they are giving me a car. The car was bought by my manager, Tony Pun,”.
Kofi Kinaata refused to disclose the type of car, but information from a very reliable source has it that it is a brand new Sonata.

The 'fante rap god' as he is passionately called, when asked if he knows that other artistes do perform his songs, he answered “Yes I do get information about that and when I hear people singing my songs, I feel motivated. Especially, a respected gospel artiste like SP Kofi Sarpong singing my song on a gospel platform is a privilege and I see it as a morale booster.”
He added “As time goes on, I get experienced in what I do as a musician and I think that is what is helping me now in my career,”.
Kofi also disclosed that moving forward, he would do songs that will be time – honored by the oldies and still serve the youth with what they want.

Yvonne Nelson to screen 'Heels & Sneakers' her brand new tv series on June 24.

CAST
Popular Ghanaian actress turn producer, Yvonne Nelson premiers the first episode of her upcoming series; Heels & Sneakers which will be released for the public at a special screening ceremony on Friday, June 24 at the Silverbird Cinemas in Accra.
After that it will start showing on a yet to be announce Ghanaian TV channel.
Friday’s red carpet ceremony would among other activities be used to present the entire cast of the series for media interaction and also announce the TV platform that will show the series.
Heels & Sneakers is Yvonne’s YN production’s first series to grace the silver-screens years after producing feature-films.
It features a lot of new faces who put up sterling performances on the set, according to Yvonne Nelson.
SYNOPSIS
HEELS & SNEAKERS is a drama series that unlike all the other series on TV, encompasses every aspect of society. As the story unfolds viewers will get to meet Pinto who traveled to Jamaica and got involved in drugs so had to run back home to seek refuge, and the only work he could do here is to sell vegetables to homes and restaurants; something he does riding a bicycle. This makes him well known in the community and as such prone to the repudiation from society because of his Rastafarian lifestyle. Apart from being into the vegetable business, Pinto, our lead character, also does music and hopes to climb back the ladder of success not through drug deals but through music. But the question of whether or not he will succeed is why people must watch this series.
Nana, Trish and Celine are all independent women of the working class in society but find one thing in common, which is their inability to find a life partner.
Their lives empathize with the working class women who in spite of their glamour and accomplishments cannot find husbands and so fall in the hands of wrong suitors, who either dupe them or meddle with their hearts. Celine who is an intelligent lecturer in a renowned university falls in love with one of her good looking male students which leads into blackmails and finally to her resignation. Nana, who is very choosy when it comes to taking a life partner, is lured by Kojo but he turns out to be a fraudster.
Another side of this entertaining show that pretty much reflects the title is the youthful and campus twist it amasses.
The show follows the lives of students on campus and out of campus, relationships, fears, challenges and most of all peer pressure, which makes it more fashionable and youthful than the other shows which are quite monotonous. Students live lives which become a concern to society and makes parents raise eyebrows and find the discipline sticks to put them right.
In the typical strict Christian home of the Manfords, we find out that the eldest, Margaret lives a two face life; one being the good and respectful Christian girl at home and the other being the wild and adventurous spoilt brat outside the home.
The series actually gives parents the clues that their wards may be only living to please them at home only to go out and throw away the values instilled in them.
Comedy is the jelly of every drama and to spice things up, there are characters like Kevin and Jay whose mere utterances can rip the ribs apart. Jay is a fante guy who swims better when flowing in fante but suffocates to death when pushed in a typical English position.
Unlike, Jay, Kevin can speak English, but like every Kumasi guy, he prefers to speak in Twi and most of the things he says are rib cracking. He is a coaxing and fun person to be around. In his palm is information about the whole community and the people who dwell in it.
Heels & Sneakers is a TV series will grip the audience and cause them to watch every episode since it employs the use of cliffhangers that keep the audience in anticipation and suspense of the next episode. It is the most relatable series that does not only dramatize events but also reflects society as it is.

But very recently the couple were spotted in public together months after they’ve renewed their vows.
They have been married for more than 10 years now. Majid has starred in so many movies and as well has won awards upon awards. Majid Michel is one of Ghana’s favourite actor of our time. Also his wife, Virna is not new to Ghanaians. Because she's always in that popular Gino advert alongside Benny Blanco.

I'm always a target of ‘church girls’ – Joe Mettle.

 Joe Mettle.
Contemporary Ghanaian gospel artist,Joe Metitle's life as a Christian and a good-looking guy(fresh boy) comes with challenges – ladies clamouring for your attention even when you are trying to stay ‘clean’.
But for him, it isn’t exactly a surprise because he was totally informed of such ‘dangers’ before becaming a gospel minister. Joe Mettle made this revealation in a yet-to-be-telecasted interview with Deloris Frimpong-Manso aka. Delay, that's on the Delay show.
When Delay asked ‘Are you a target for most church girls’, he answered “oh yeah yeah… It’s been there for a while. “I think that when we were growing up in ministries, they were some of the things we were told at a point in our ministries it will come so you are ready for it.”
Gospel Singer Joe Mettle sits with me on the Delay show today at 5pm on viasat1 and a repeat on Sunday at 4pm @vodafoneghana

AMAA

Just like every awards event, lots of expectations await the event as regards who wins what?
As usual Ghana is hoping to win some of the major categories after receiving a total of fifteen (15) nominations with five (5) films.
These categories includes Best Actor in Leading Role, Best Actor in Supporting Role, Best Director and Best Young/Promising Actor category among others.
Also new actor Joseph Otsiman got the nod for Best Actor in Supporting Role for his performance in the drama thriller, The Cursed Ones, directed by Nana Obiri Yeboah. Nana has also been nominated for Best Director award while young actress, Ophelia Klenam Dzidzornu also got nominated for AMAA 2016 Award for Best Young/Promising Actor category for her role in The Cursed Ones.
English actor Oris Erhuero is set to slug it out with other contenders for the Best Actor in Leading Role award for his performance in the same Ghanaian movie—The Cursed Ones.
The movie had majority of the nominations for Ghana but missed out on Best Actress in Lead Role category. Ghana didn’t make it into that category at all.
Shirley Frimpong Manso’s directed Rebecca had two nominations in the categories, AMAA 2016 Award for Achievements in Editing and Sound.
Two other Ghanaian films—Cursed Treasure and Daggers of Life (Agbe Fe Akumehewo)—have both been nominated for Ousmane Sembene AMAA 2016 Award for Best Film in an African Language.

Gifty Anti reveals that her father became a security guard to educate her.

Gifty Anti
Contemporary Ghanaian broadcaster Gifty Anti has revealed that her pensioned father took up a job as a security guard to see her through school and therefore she is hard on men who neglect their responsibilities of taking care of their children.
The ace broadcaster talking about how she got the opportunity to be educated at a period in Ghanaian history when girl child education was unpopular in the ’80s and ’90s, Gifty also known as Awo Dansoa – after marrying Nana Ansah Kwao IV of Adumasa – said her father believed in education and sacrificed his all to educate her and all her siblings.
She said “By God’s grace I had a father who believed in educating his children. My father sacrificed a lot to make sure all his wards were educated. When I completed Form 3 and was about entering Form 4, he went on pension. He went on pension as a police officer, pension as a Kingsway manager, and pension as an insurance salesperson. So, life was difficult, but he took up a job as a security guard so that he could afford to pay my school fees,” in an interview with DJ Premier on Entertainment Capital Saturday June 4 on Accra 100.5FM.
Awo Dansoa, who is also a gender advocate, noted that with her father’s example, men, no matter their status and financial worth, can educate their children if they want.

“…That is why I hit hard at men. My dad was born in 1916, he was born in the Gold Coast era, Gold Coast police-trained but because of the education of his girl child, he took up a job as a security guard. So, men can educate their children especially girls if they want to,” she expressed.
“So, I don’t know why some men of today neglect their responsibility and don’t take care of their children. I don’t know whether men of today are too pampered or just wicked, but it appears some Ghanaian men believe it is the responsibility of women to take care of the children. The belief that children will always go back to their fathers even if they do not take care of them has entered their heads.
“I have said any man that does not take care of his children is a ‘fool’ because your children are your legacy and your greatest asset. Every man should pride himself with being able to educate his children to the highest level possible; it is not about the number of cars and houses you have.”

The CEO of this awards scheme that's the RIP Awards, Prince Makay has hinted that this year's launch of the awards show is likely not to be held in Accra.
According to the CEO in a recent exclusive interview with Seacitygh.com he said barring all hitches, there is a likelihood of holding this year's award launch in the Garden City, Kumasi as management is yet to finalize on that.
Mr.Makay said "If God permits, this year, the launch will be in Kumasi. The management is meeting this week to take a final decision. We're not not doing it because people are complaining but because we want to bring it closer to other regions. So maybe next year too it will be in other regions."
However he also hinted that this year's awards is under consideration to be pushed forward to somewhere in September because of the general elections in November this year.
RTP Awards has been one of the most credible and respected award schemes in Ghana as far as radio and television businesses are concerned, just as already said in the introduction.

Timothy Bentum voices out all about his cocaine addiction.

Timothy and wife(first from right)
Contemporary Ghanaian actor, Timothy Bentum well known in movies for his atrocious character. The actor tells the story his of drug addiction and the saving grace that delivered him from the dungeon of sin and drugs. According to Timothy, the journey of his 12 years addiction to drugs, with cocaine as his major, began after taking his first jolt of cigarette when he was only 13 years. The rest, he says, “is history”.
“I was in school one time and we had to do a play on drug abuse and one of my friends said ‘charley, this place, we for high before we go oo’. You see the irony of the story? Going to do a play on drug abuse and then in reality we were taking it in,” he revealed.
Read his revelation below:

The undying love of a parent
Though born into a home in which the Christian faith was hallowed, Timothy, blinded by sin and the unprofitable pleasure that drugs gave him, flouted the rules of the truth into which he was born. “I grew up in a home where morning devotion was held every day. You would either be part of it or move out, and even if you were dying, you’d still go to church. My parents were staunch Christians,” he says.
“It’s always been my parents’ prayers that kept me alive. Probably, I would have been long gone. I heard them almost every night begging God and seeking His face on my behalf,” he adds. But in spite of the spiritual groaning of his parents, Timothy would not hesitate to cause them further trauma by selling their belongings to buy drugs. He reminisces how he took his parents through certain depressing episodes, but according to him, “my parents were very patient with me, never gave up and still kept praying for a change to come.” “I know that sometimes answers to prayers take a long time to manifest but I guess this is the prayer of my parents manifesting now,” he adds.
Sowing the seed
For Timothy, his transformation from sin to grace was not the fast kind. He describes it as “a slow and tugging one.” “Anytime I go past a church and I hear them singing worship, something inside of me moves. It’s all the result of the seed sown by my parents,” he recollects.
“This is where I would pause to advise that, parents and guardians take time to plant the seeds of Christ in their children and even if they go wayward, because the seed is there, they will end up coming back to Jesus,” he advises parents.

Transformation from sin to grace
“The truth of the matter is that I did not have that kind of Paul experience on the way to Damascus or Jesus coming down in bright light and saying ‘Timothy, my son it’s time to come home’,” he clarifies. “One Sunday morning, I was walking to the ghetto to get some cocaine and then I met a friend who used to come to my house to eat. He was going to church with his wife and kids and then I wondered what had changed for him because we used to be together,” he recalls. It was at this point that the reality check struck at Timothy, as he realised the need for him to get back to God.
“The devil has a cunning way of stealing you away so slowly that you don’t know how fast or far you have fallen until the light of God comes through. It always start with a little desire for something and then you realise you are craving for it the more. “That morning, there was a blast in my head. I went back home and I cried. I told God that if He could hear me, then it was time for Him to take me back. God came through for me,” he tells the Revelation.
It is very unusual to find a drug addict of 12 years coming clean without a relapse or withdrawal symptoms but according to Timothy, his recovery came as a miracle—no twitches, fever whatsoever and even the doctors and psychoanalyst would not believe his recovery. All he had to do was to eat properly to heal the scurvy look that years of cocaine consumption had marred him with.

Life after transformation
According to Timothy, most of his colleagues did not take the change in good faith. While some cut off completely from him, others are waiting patiently for him to snap out of the ‘Jesus fever’ and come back to the world. “Some are very critical of me and I hear them say ‘oh! leave him, he only went in to get money and women; he will soon be back’,” he reveals.
Even though Timothy is going about his ‘father’s business’, he is still acting and directing movies. Nonetheless, he is very critical about the role he plays. “I can’t go about kissing every girl in the name of acting, no.”
He also says that his transformation made him realise that even in the showbiz, people use diabolical powers to work. “When you come around with a positive energy, it affects them and they don’t want you around because there is a spiritual clash,” he reveals.
Timothy Bentum Ministries (TBM)
God’s plans for Timothy fell in pleasant places, with the Lord calling him into a ministry of delivering people from drug addiction.
According to him, he was not called to pastor a church but to evangelise to the world about how God saved him, and to reach out to them with the message of the cross. The Timothy Bentum Ministry has been in existence for about four years, and it aims spreading the gospel.
The TBM undertakes programmes, including “Fame and Faith” – in which Christian celebrities reached out to students in the second cycle tertiary instutions. Every year, the TBM also organises the Actors, Presenters, Professionals and Musicians for Christ (APPMC) event, a time when players in the entertainment industry gather to seek God’s face and to spread the gospel.
“The kind of impact Majid would have when he preaches the gospel may even be greater than that of an Archbishop. That’s why I get celebrities on board and they are passionate about Christ,” he explains.
Testimonies
Timothy finds it easier to relate with drug addicts because he has been down that road before.
“Gays, addicts and prostitutes reach out to us for help and the change that comes is awesome,” he submits. “We have crazy testimonies. Some of the transformations are slow but just like taking a basket of rice to the river to wash, with intention of fetching the water but by the time you get to your destination all the water is drained. You go back to fetch and it’s the same story but unknown to you, the rice is being washed,” he adds. Timothy is married to Gloria Maa Efia Bentum and they are blessed with two children. His message to all is simple and profound: “There is no dungeon so deep that the love of Christ can’t reach.”

NDC denounces Bukom Banku over ‘uncivilized’ endorsement of John Mahama.

Bukum Banku
The ruling National Democratic Congress(NDC) has reacted to the actions of popular boxer, Bukom Banku who hopes to court the attention of President John Dramani Mahama ahead of the November 7 polls has been dashed as functionaries of the political party have rejected his style of projecting the president.
The Ghanaian boxer cum musician has in recent times came under severe censure from the public, especially those on social media, following series of videos on social media projecting President Mahama and the ruling party in an “uncivilized” manner.
Bukum Banku despite warnings from the party’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketsiah, which was published on Ghanapoliticsonline.com that the party will not countenance such ‘bad-mannered’ endorsement from persons who relish projecting President Mahama, the Bukom based controversial boxer released another ‘campaign’ video revealing his butt.
Perhaps, irked by Bukom Banku’s latest video which was roundly condemned, a deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Koku Anyidoho rehashed the party’s earlier warning in an interview with Ghanapoliticsonline.com that party supporters should be mindful of the manner in which they campaign for the president.
The NDC Deputy General Secretary the 'Bull' as he is affectionately called, warned that the party will not countenance abusive words used by any party supporter to endorse President John Mahama.
“The statement the party released last week which was signed by the General Secretary stated that anybody including Bukom Banku, that uses abusive and uncivilized words will not be accepted,” giving his statement in his usual ‘military-like’ tone.
And also Mr Anyidoho added “in as much as the NDC appreciates and continues to appreciate the massive endorsement of President Mahama by all sections of the Ghanaian Society; the use of abusive and unacceptable language shall not be accepted. The NDC is reiterating the fact that abusive language and violence is not our style of campaigning.

Sarkodie vindicated:proves why some Gh rappers are 'lazy ass rappers'

SARKODIE
Ghana's best rap artist and CEO of SarkCess Music, Sarkodie has indeed proven beyond all reasonable doughts most Ghanaian rappers are lazy.
Couple of weeks back, the multiple award winner dropped a single titled 'Take It Back' in which he addressed the falling standards of rap music in Ghana. Aside the many things he said in the song, he referred to some rappers without mentioning names as “lazy ass rappers”. This line seemed not have sat well on many but a few weeks down the line, his line in the song seem to have been justified.
Sarkodie after dropping an amazing cover to E-40‘s 2014 hit single Choices (Yup), the song has suddenly gained such popularity in Ghana that almost every artist has or is considering a cover. It is not surprising that he says in the 2 minutes 40 seconds song Take It Back,” Dabia na mo hw3 me cos I’m up to something” (You are always looking up to me cos I’m up to something).
The first to have done a cover was music duo Gallaxy. Their version seemed very nice and quite cool to follow as they addressed the recently held Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. This made the song pretty interesting and creative.

However, since the covers seem to be flowing in with very little or no substance.
Some of the artists to have done covers so far include Stonebwoy, Yaa Pono, Nakie, Papi, Ayes3m and Criss Waddle.
This, however, leaves one to think if none of these artists knew such a song ever existed till Sarkodie dropped his own cover. Anyway, it’s not wrong to have covers but what about the very poor content? Perhaps, it’s just the lazy copycat culture among some Ghanaian artists.
Anyway, I’m tempted to think Sarkodie knew exactly what he talked about when he referred to some rappers as “lazy ass rappers”. Lead and they’ll follow ‪#‎Sark‬ the rap king.
