The quest for fame is intense out here. Most people assume popularity is the only way to get the finer things in life.

They’re the famous faces you know but can’t remember why you know them. You can’t stop reading about their lives on blogs and entertainment sites.
For one to become famous, it takes a certain level of talent or skill but these days, thanks to the emergence of social media and the rise of the internet, it’s easy for people to become overnight celebrities.
Here are some infamous Ghanaians who used controversial means to achieve fame.

1. Two Thoozin

Franklin Quartey, popularly known as Two Thoozin, has become a social media sensation. We got to know TT when his ‘New Year’ video went viral and trended all over the country. He’s neither an actor nor a singer but has tried both skills since he became famous. Half the things he talks about honestly make no sense but he is constantly trending. 2. Kpakpakpa Man

Just like Two Thoozin, a video (vox-pop) skit by Joy News made him popular after it went viral on social media. He has since influenced a song by Guru and a commercial by telecom giant, Globacom.

3. Hajia4Real aka Mona

Thanks to a hot scandal between her and her millionaire boyfriend, Kenpong, she became an internet and social media sensation. Till date, some websites still talk about her and report on her shenanigans religiously.

4. Afia Schwarzenegger

Being a loud mouth does pay in this side of town. At least Afia Schwarzenegger has benefited hugely from it. Thanks to a rift between her and Bishop Daniel Obinim in which she took to social media to drag the pastor’s name through dirt, Afia Schwarzenegger has currently inked deals with media giants like Kasapa FM and UTV.

5. Amanda Acquah

Amanda Acquah, Black Stars footballer, Afriyie Acquah’s wife became a household name when series of scandals came out concerning her ex-husband Kenpong, current husband, Afriyie Acquah and sex partner, Jordan Ayew.

6. Mzbel

She started off as a musician but off-late she’s more of a nudist, throwing nude and controversial pictures here and there. Many claim she’s doing it for attention since the music is not selling anymore. Well it bagged her a deal with VRA to help stop illegal connection of electricity.

7. Wanlov

Wanlov the Kubolor who doubles as an excellent musician, usually uses controversy to help make his brand popular. His greatest stunt was showing his manhood on live TV. He goes around wearing no shoes, female clothing or tight shorts exposing his manhood. This and many more of his stunts went viral.

8. Hon. Kennedy Agyapong

There are lots of MP’s (members of parliament) in Ghana but the most notable ones are the talkatives of which Hon. Kennedy Agyapong falls in the category. He’s very bold, outspoken and cares little about what people think of him.
